Denni // Gallery 3209 // WORKAHOLIC

What do you do?
I am a multi-media artist and currently the director of Gallery 3209.

How did you get to where you are now?
After graduating art school with a major in painting and a minor in photography, I began to gain an interest in the gallery world. I acquired experience by interning at several galleries and museums until finally taking the plunge: opening my own space. A twist of fate led me to the path that I am on… and no I will NOT be getting my MFA.

What made you turn to this direction?
Being manic-creative, running a gallery allows me to tap into my many artistic regions. So it’s a perfect fit.

Was this always your dream job?

How much of the week is work, how much is play?
I work hard and I play hard. Let’s just say it’s a 24-hour day.

How do you find your inspiration and do you find it easy to stay organized?
My inspiration is gathered from what my eye catches and what catches my eye (some examples below). I am a one-woman show, so staying organized is a bit of a challenge.

How important is your work, and do you feel it defines you?
My work is my life and a representation of who I am as an individual and an artist. I feel like my vision of what I find beautiful should be shared with the world. I am confident in my vision as both a curator and an artist. I live and breathe art, and yes my work defines me.

What has been the most exciting thing you have done with your
work, and what is a dream situation you’d like to find yourself in?
The most exciting thing I have done with my work is light it on fire and watch it burn thinking I can do better. I apply this theory to most work in my life so that I’m constantly challenging myself. I’d like to find myself where I am now, but bigger, better, and reaching more people; Global.

How do you define your personal style, work and clothing, etc.
Business woman all black with a leather jacket. Chic suits with holes.

Do you listen to music during your work day?
All day everyday! Give me some 60’s garage rock and I’m a happy lady.

What’s something someone may not know about you?
I used to be a ballerina.

Anything else you would like to say or for us to know?
The WORK Mag makes me hot. Along with being an artist and gallerist, I also model and prefer the nude. Feel free to contact my agent for your next issue.
